Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) is full of Priority Pass lounges, but not all of them are created equal. The Oman Air lounge is not only my favorite Priority Pass lounge in the world, but also one of my favorite business class lounges in the world.
In a word: food.
I’ve written about the food before and will start with that in this review. I’ve now been in the lounge for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the spread is consistently delicious.
Breakfast:
Lunch/Dinner:
If it is not clear by the pictures, the quality and variety of the food is excellent. I appreciate small touches like Arabic coffee and dates as well as mixed nuts.
I enjoyed a feast during my recent visit:
Alcohol selection is tremendous as well. Not all top-shelf stuff, but something for everyone.
The lounge is split into two rooms, a main room that also has the buffet and computer workstations and a separate room that is usually closed if the lounge is not crowded. I love the colors of the lounge, particularly the distinct turquoise accents in the buffet area.
Here’s the main room, including a single dining room table that is always a hot commodity–
This is the second room–
Not pictured (because there is an attendant in the bathroom and that just gets a little weird) is the bathroom and shower. A single shower is available and the male restroom is clean, though small.
Service is not like the nearby Thai Airways First Class Lounge, but it is professional, friendly, and proactive. I grabbed a salad from the buffet and must have been staring at the empty French Dressing dish for awhile (there were other dressings available) because an attendant came over and offered to bring me some from the back. Another time, an attendant saw I was making a cappuccino and invited me to take a seat and make it for me.
CONCLUSION
This lounge is undoubtedly worth an hour of your time, especially if you are a Priority Pass member. Arrive hungry and leave satisfied. The lounge is located airside on Level 3 of international departures (on the west side). Hours of operations are daily from 5am to 8:30p.
Terrible WiFi at Oman Air BKK lounge! We had to use the airports WiFi, which was very weak inside. And we didnt have a good selection of food when we were there last year. 🙁
I second Matthew’s review. The only lounge I’d rather be in at BKK is the Thai First lounge.
Have to agree about being a nice lounge, but disappointed on my visit on 22nd of May that all toilets and shower were out of order and there was no signage to indicate this prior to checking into the lounge, was told by staff to use the outside amenities which were in a poor state.
To day the 20th December 2018 we have been this outstanding Oman Air lounge for the first time, the lay out of the lounge is modern and provide good friendly environment , the food and the drink and the facilities are well maintained and kept in good order .There are times when things gets out off order due to some circumstance ,which are in the hand of the hosting country,I say this not to defend but we do get this type of issues even in our homes and in our countries. We have to appreciate the big efforts mad by the staff and the good work they do to take of us during our short stay.Wishing Oman Air and all the staff happy New Year and all the success and Good luck.
