While the official Transportation Security Administration motto might be “not on my watch,” the more apt phrase is “that’s my watch” after another TSA Officer was indicted for stealing last week.
Paul Yashou, a now disgraced ex-TSO at LAX, must have thought he was a slick operator–steal a few watches here and there and no one would be the wiser. But he probably did not figure the $15,000 IWC GST watch he pawned to a local jeweler would wind up on eBay, where the watch’s owner found it and quickly called the police.
We don’t know the extent of Yahou’s thievery, but he will face two felony counts, for stealing the IWC GST watch and a $5,000 watch, as well as three misdemeanor charges for stealing three less-expensive time pieces.
Of course this was just a bad apple. Just like Toussain Puddie, the TSA agent recently charged for stealing a $450 pen at Fort Lauderdale. Just like the TSA thieves at New York Kennedy. Or Newark. Or Buffalo. Or Phoneix.
You get my point.
