Wild Onboard Bachelorette Party Leads to Ejection and Arrest

Matthew July 28, 2017 4 Comments

A rowdy group of female revelers were removed and arrested after creating a disturbance onboard a Rynair flight to Spain.

The evening Liverpool to Alicante flight featured a group of ladies headed for a weekend hen party. In the UK, bachelorette parties are known as hen parties. My sister-in-law just had one, and the video below is perhaps one reason my wife decided to skip it!

Unfortunately for the other passengers, the ladies entered the plane tipsy and things only went downhill from there. Apparently, once in the air the ladies refused to remain seated even when the seatbelt light was on. It seems the crew may have foolishly served them more alcohol, though all alcohol sales were suspended once the ladies refused to follow crewmember instructions.

The captain threatened to divert to France but ultimately decided to complete the flight. Authorities met the aircraft in Alicante. The ladies were led off first to the applause of most of the plane. They cursed out other passengers as they exited the aircraft.

Ryanair issued the following statement–

The crew of this flight from Liverpool to Alicante (27 July) requested police assistance upon arrival in Alicante after a number of passengers became disruptive inflight.

‘The aircraft landed normally and police removed and detained these individuals. The safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority and we will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time.

‘This is now a matter for local police.

Just another Ryanair flight to Spain…

Is there any real consequence for these actions? From your time in Europe do you know if these ladies will face anything other than a talking to, sober up time and a ticket they will likely not pay? I know when I lived in Holland the Dutch police had no interest in paying to imprison drunkards from UK/Ireland so the people normally got off with just a ticket they almost never paid.

I feel like GLA is usually the culprit.
