United Airlines just released a heartwarming video covering CEO Oscar Munoz’s visit to areas devastated by Hurricane Harvey in Houston.
I don’t think the video requires much commentary. Here it is–
I love the simple truth in this video — that tragedy often brings out the very best in people. This horrible storm caused incredible and extensive damage. Thousands lost their homes and all their earthy possessions. But now the community is coming together.
In terms of United, workers across ethnic, racial, and social lines are teaming up to help each other clean-up and rebuild. It’s heartening: a glimpse that United Airlines is not just an amalgamation of disinterested employees but a family.
And you can see that Oscar Munoz cares. He’s not the aloof CEO. He’s a hands-on leader and you really cannot fake that in PR video.
That teary-eyed man in the green shirt toward the end of the video brought tears to my eyes as well. Watch the video. It’s worth three minutes of your time.
