United Airlines is rolling out commemorative amenity kits in honor of the Boeing 747, which will be retired after a special final flight next month.
The attractive tin amenity kits will contain the usual toiletries and skincare products, but also contain a packet of four trading cards highlighting historic photos and facts about the 747. There will be a total of 15 trading cards in the collection, so look around when you land or be prepared to fly multiple times. But don’t steal from other passengers…
Passengers flying in longhaul business (“Polaris”) class will receive the larger tins pictured above while those traveling in premium transcontinental service (SFO/LAX-EWR,BOS-SFO) will receive the smaller tins.
Look for these special amenity kits through winter 2018.
United has featured special tin amenity kits over the years, including for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro and to recognize each of its hub cities in 2014. I have all of them…gathering dust in a box in my garage…which leads me to question why I am so enthusiastic about these 747 amenity kits.
But I am. The 747 has special meaning to me, marking the first time I ever flew in a premium cabin. I look forward to the final flight and to collecting all of the tins in the weeks to come
