“To err is human; to forgive, divine” – Alexander Pope (1709)
I must admit I got a tad annoyed yesterday. I scheduled a post entitled How to Book A350 Delta One Suites for Cheap(er) Using Miles for yesterday morning and went about my day.
But the comments started pouring in. Negative ones. Questioning my judgment. Questioning why I left things out.
And I was surprised. Do these people not read?
Then, reader Ashwin left the following comment:
Is there a specific reason why Virgin Atlantic Flying Club doesn’t get a mention for redeeming Delta. This exact flight can be snatched at 60k miles+~31USD (196CNY).
And when I saw that comment, my first reaction was, “It’s right there dummy!”
But then I took a look at my post. Oh my goodness…it actually wasn’t there.
I use two computers at home to blog and must have accidentally published an early version of the story before I added information on Flying Blue and Virgin Atlantic. I also had stated incorrect point values for close-in Delta partner awards to Asia (price is 125K, not 105K one-way).
And suddenly the negative comments made sense.
So dear readers, I do apologize and ask for your forgiveness. I’m far from infallible and really messed up on my post yesterday. I can assure you that it was not intentional. I still maintain that 94K for a one-way Delta One trip is acceptable, considering the award chart inflation we have seen.
But for the avoidance of doubt, the best way to currently use your miles to experience Delta’s new A350 “Delta One Suites” is to redeem with Virgin Atlantic. 60K one-way ticket between Beijing and Detroit.
