There are seven Hyatt hotels in Germany. Which one is best?
The seven properties include:
- Hyatt Regency Cologne
- Grand Hyatt Berlin
- Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf
- Hyatt Regency Mainz
- Park Hyatt Hamburg
- Hyatt Place Frankfurt
- Hyatt House Dusseldorf
For purposes of this analysis, I am not going to include the last two limited service properties. I’ve stayed in all five hotels recently and provided comprehensive reviews of each one. You can find links to those reviews below.
While my opinion is certainly subjective, I rank the hotels below from worst to best and defend why.
5. Hyatt Regency Cologne
Despite its great location, this hotel is in need of a refresh. This is the only hotel on the list that I cannot wholeheartedly recommend. Even so, I enjoyed breakfast and beautiful sunset views from the hotel.

4. Grand Hyatt Berlin
The Potsdamer Platz neighborhood is not my favorite in Berlin, and I felt guests rooms were rather small and the club lounge spread fairly disappointing. I actually prefer the Westin Grand or Adlon Kempinski when in Berlin. Yet this is hotel is a great value for your points with excellent service and nice amenities.

3. Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf
In many ways, this should be #2 on the list. It has great common areas, excellent breakfast, and modern guest rooms. The hotel is also within walking distance of the heart of Dusseldorf.

2. Hyatt Regency Mainz
This hotel earns a #2 spot on my list for sentimental reasons. It’s not the most modern or fancy Hyatt in Germany, but I love it returning here over and over. Breakfast is always wonderful, the views of the Rhine amazing, and I love the city of Mainz. It’s a great hotel to relax in without the hustle and bustle of a busy city.

1. Park Hyatt Hamburg
I love this property’s central location in Hamburg, club lounge, and great pool and fitness center. Rooms are large and service shines. Arguably, the hotel is due for a refresh, yet unlike at the Hyatt Regency Cologne, the rooms and common areas offer a more timeless elegance.
