The Premium Lounge in Guangzhou has great coffee. That’s enough to earn this Priority Pass lounge high marks in my book.
You actually have quite a choice now of lounges in Guangzhou (CAN). Six, to be exact. In addition to this one, you have access to Air China, Baiyun, China Eastern, Hainan, and King lounge. When I was there, this was the only choice.
We’ll start with the coffee, since I was so impressed by it. Barista-made coffee is always nice, but it still takes a good machine and good coffee. This lounge had both. Considering that it is often difficult to find great coffee in China, I was ecstatic. It was better than the coffee at the Park Hyatt Guangzhou.
The coffee area was set up like a bakery several sweet and savory options available:
The lounge was long, but not deep: rectangular in shape. Lights were dimmed and TVs flickered silently. A buffet included several hot options, though nothing looked appetizing to me. Self-service wine was available (one bottle of red, one bottle of white). Behind the coffee counter was more wine an beer as well. Nothing else in terms of alcoholic beverages.
The lounge also includes restrooms and showers, which I did not photograph because they were occupied.
Next time I’ll try out some of the other Priority Pass lounges in Guangzhou. But I will certainly stop by this one first for a cup of coffee.
