The Lufthansa Senator Lounge in the B Gates area of Terminal 1 is my favorite of the three Senator Lounges at FRA.
It is located next to B43 and open daily from 5:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. An agent will verify your boarding pass at a small desk outside the front entrance. If you are a Star Alliance Gold member, you may be asked to produce your card.
Once inside, you’ll proceed upstairs where you’ll encounter sliding double doors leading to the actual lounge.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Bar
The “City Lights” bar offers a very generous selection of alcoholic drinks, but has two things I like even more: freshly brewed coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice (and other juices). That’s what I enjoyed.
But the alcoholic selection is also quite wide, with a menu of cocktails available for order. All alcohol in the lounge is complimentary.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Food + Drinks
As long as we are on the subject of alcohol, the lounge also has an expansive selection of self-serve beer, wine, and schnapps. Soft drinks and water as well.
As for the food, you can count on a full meal here if you so desire. Selections included tremendous German breads, soup, salad, hot dishes like chicken and dumplings, and many desserts.
Don’t forget the ice cream!
A special kid’s area offered additional sweet treats:
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Seating
The lounge emptied out around 2:00 P.M. and remained almost empty until I left at 3:30 P.M. The lounge seats at least 200 comfortably. Power outlets (Euro German) are located strategically within arm’s reach of most chairs. Wi-Fi is complimentary and fast.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Work Stations
A small work station toward the lounge entrance offers a quiet place to plug in and work. Printing and copying is complimentary.
Newspapers and magazines are also located nearby:
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Lockers
If you do need to leave the lounge and come back, lockers are available. Each locker has an individual key.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Spa
Lufthansa recently opened a spa in this Senator Lounge. Unfortunately, there are no complimentary treatments and prices are rather steep. Here’s the spa menu:
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Smoking
Smokers have a large smoking room in the back corner of the lounge.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Sleeping Room
If you care to rest, the lounge has a sleeping room with four beds. Bedding is provided.
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (FRA) Restrooms + Showers
Showers are available inside the spa. Restrooms are located adjacent to the spa.
This is an excellent Star Alliance Gold lounge with comfortable seating and a nice selection of food and drink. If you have Star Gold status and are flying economy class, I recommend you eat here prior to your flight.
