United Airlines has just confirmed with me that the Polaris Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) will officially open on Saturday, January 12th, 2019.
We’ve been waiting for months (years really) for this lounge to open, but the end is now in sight. United’s official Polaris Lounge tracker has also now been updated.
In a recent post, I noted that substantial progress has been made:

Thus far, we still do not know the square footage of the lounge or whether it will have any unique Los Angeles-themed amenities. But expect a well-done lounge in the space of the former International First Class lounge. It will be particularly nice to have showers in the United terminal since the spacious United Club does not offer any.
Note that access to this lounge will be reserved exclusively for United longhaul business class passengers and other departing Star Alliance longhaul business class passengers. Those traveling on carriers departing from the Tom Bradley International Terminal can reach the Polaris Lounges via an underground walkway. We’ll see how it compares to the Star Alliance Lounge.

I’ll be previewing the lounge shortly before the public opening and look forward to checking it out soon and also experiencing it as a passenger.
